Thursday, March 6th marked the first time that 1800mattress.com will keep its showroom open for 24 hours. The company announced that they will be keeping three Manhattan showrooms open for consumer service around the clock.

The move by the company is just another radical campaign on top of other cutting edge marketing campaigns. The company announced that their showrooms at 64th St. and Second Avenue, 95th Street and Third Avenue, and 34th Street and Ninth Avenue will now be opened to serve consumers 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Apart from these three retail stores, the company also announced that its clearance center at 3110 48th Avenue will also be open round the clock. The decision by the company to open its three showrooms 24 hours a day means that consumers can have their mattresses delivered virtually at all times.

Apart from having their three showrooms offering whole day service, the telemarketing company is also known for its twohour delivery program. Furthermore, the company has hired employees fluent in Spanish, Russian, Italian, and French. This means that they would be able to cater to the needs of international consumers better.

The 24hour showroom service will be launched by the company in relation with the National Sleep Awareness week. With this commitment to educate their consumers of the benefits of a good nights sleep, the companys 24hour showrooms will have medical sleep experts. These experts will be imparting their knowledge to consumers who will be dropping by.

Napoleon Barragan, founder and Chief Executive Officer of 1800mattress.com said that their move to open showrooms 24 hours a day is part of their goal to make it easier for consumers to purchase sleep products at any time of day.

We have always offered our customers the ability to shop how they want, when they want and at the price they want to pay by offering 24/7 telephone and internet capabilities. It made good sense to extend that to our showrooms, said Barragan.

We now understand that nearly 30percent of consumers want to try a bed before making a purchase, to it is increasingly important to have the showrooms open for them when it is convenient for them, he added.

Executive Vice President of Sales and Merchandising John OConnell said that this is just the beginning of a massive change in the way their company address the needs of their consumers. Manhattan will be the first of what we see as a nationwide launch of the program. Between people working late, commuters, shift workers, it is a 24hour city. We also know from the history in the call center and online, that there is good business to be done after 10 p.m., when most of our stores traditionally closed, said OConnell.

This radical initiative by the sleep product company might pave the way for other companies to offer the same service whether they are marketing pendant lights or other home furnishing pieces.
