6 Quick Steps To Building Niche Websites
Step 6d : Market your website
d) (i) Using The Power Of Articles - Article Post Robot
Most webmasters are probably keen in knowing how to explode your website traffic. Many marketers, however, have neglected a simple top quality method of driving traffic to their sites: writing short 400 word articles and submitting them so they appear all over the internet.
This will help you in two major ways:
1) Each article provides a link back to your website. The more relevant links you get to your website, the higher it will be ranked in the search engines, and the more traffic you will receive.
2) People are looking for information, and if they come across one of your articles, they will be inclined click on the link to your website. The more places you can find to display your articles, the more traffic you will get to your website.
Once you have your article ready for distribution, you need to submit to as many places as possible. There are probably hundreds of article directories that you can submit to, as well as topic specific mailing groups.
But doing so manually one by one is time consuming and tedious. You can either pay someone to do it for you, or use some sort of article submission software. This will save you considerable time, that you can better use to write another article, or promote your website.
Different Article Submission Software
I have used a few article submission software before. For comparison sake, I've listed them here:
a) Ezine Announcer (predecessor of Article Announcer), by Jason Potash.
This software allows you pre-enter all your article details. When you go to each article site, the software will auto-fill the details, but to a certain extent. There's still a need to manually verify, and do correction, before pressing the submit button.
I've stopped using this due to the amount of time needed to submit just one article to multiple sites.
UPDATE: This software is now revised to focus on announcing your ezine newsletter. For article submmission, you need Article Announcer.
b) Article Submitter Pro
This software was released in August 2005. To its credit, it does its job better than Ezine Announcer, but there's still much work to do in terms of knowing which article sites need login, and which don't.
It is at best semi-automatic, as you still need to select the category manually at each site before submitting.
c) Article Submitter (released in January 2006 under Source Code Goldmine)
It is pretty much similar to Article Submitter Pro, in that it is able to auto-fill the article details, and you still need to manually select category (semi-automated).
My only reservation is that as with the Source Code Blowout series, technical support and software update will be minimal. And from what I gather, this software was a one-off project by a freelance developer, just for the sales event.
This is definitely a no-no when it comes to article submission software, where the article directories are very dynamic with constantly changing format and new directories being added.
d) Article Post Robot
This is the current one I am using, and it has saved me a huge amount of time.
It has more than 200 article directories and 50 mail groups you can submit to. It is able to handle auto-login and auto-selection of category, which is a technical barrier which other software have failed to overcome.
You can use it to submit in manual mode, where you have control on when to press the "Submit" button when you are satisfied that all details are auto-filled to your satisfaction.
You can also submit in automatic mode, where the software will do the login, auto-fill, submit, logout, next site - all done automatically. This hands-free method is what I like most, as it means I can leave it running in the background while I do something else.
As with all automation software, the responsibility is with the user not to use it to spam article directories. Although most sites can be done on automatic mode, there are still a few sites you need to fine-tune the auto-filled details.
Having properly formatted articles is what article directory owners will appreciate. I know, because I own two article directories myself.
The technical support for Article Post Robot is excellent, manned by responsive and committed support staff. The software is also continually upgraded, to provide a growing list of article directories.
