6 Quick Steps To Building Niche Websites
Step 6b(i) : Market your website
b) Building Your List
It is no secret that the money is in the list! Every Internet marketer swears by this.
When you have a big list, and better still the list is a highly responsive list (e.g. someone who has perhaps bought from you before), then the ongoing value of this list will be something that can be quite substantial. You can promote simliar products, get some backend sales, upsell, and anything you think can be monetized.
However, it is very important to know that you need to spend efforts to cultivate the list, and build a trusting relationship. There are many ways to achieve this, including providing regular quality contents, useful information, giving out freebies, and occasionally recommend some products that you believe in.
Never, never bombard your list with advertisements, or jumping from one recommendation to another just to make a quick buck. This will be a sure way to encourage your list members to hit the unsubscribe button.
To maintain your list, and automate as much as possible (remember you need to automate so that you can move on to building more niche websites), you can use autoresponders. These services will maintain your list for you, and send out pre-defined messages at pre-defined intervals.
There are many services available, but two of the more popular ones, that I use, are GetResponse and Aweber.
i) GetResponse
GetResponse is a good autoresponder service, and technical support is prompt. You can also get unlimited number of mailing lists. There is a free version of GetResponse (which attaches other people's advertisement at the top of every message you send, with some limited functions), or you can upgrade anytime to PRO version. If you choose to pay in advance quarterly, half-yearly or yearly, there are attractive discounts.
